Yesterday Team Projects had the pleasure of attending the MillerKnoll showroom in Clerkenwell for a furniture CPD hosted by John, Justin & Dayton of Office Portfolio.

With more and more projects being delivered under a Design & Build contract, often ‘turnkey solutions’ including the selection and procurement of furniture it was helpful to dig deeper into the process. We were able to openly discuss the pitfalls and hurdles that we often come across as contractors when dealing with furniture, coming up with solutions that would aid both parties in the journey.

It became clear that, relationships are everything. Whether that be a contractor’s relationship with the furniture dealer or the dealer’s relationship with multiple manufacturers. Knowledge is power; the more a dealer knows about their manufacturers such as workload or changes within the business, the easier it is for them to advise on lead-in times that fit with our client’s programme, likelihood of delays to some products and providing solutions to any roadblocks faced.

2025 is shaping up to be a great year of continued learning for Team Projects. On the horizon in April is an in-depth session on the new Building Safety Act.
